List of Operating System That WhatsApp Will Stop supporting From Dec. 31 2019

  • Android versions 2.3.7 and older also affected, would stop supping WhatsApp after February 1, 2020


WhatsApp is ready to stop its support for a few older versions of Android and iOS. Android versions 2.3.7 and older, iPhone iOS 7 and older are the platforms on which WhatsApp will not work after December 31, 2019, and February 1, 2020.

The app company was reported to have said that it is stopping support for devices whose operating systems do not have the capabilities that are needed to expand the app's features.

According to the company,
"This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones"

Below is the complete list of platforms that will have to say goodbye to WhatsApp starting from December 31 2019.


  • All windows Phone operating systems after December 31, 2019
  • Android versions 2.3.7 and older after February 1, 2020.
  • iPhone iOS 7 and older after February 1, 2020
Smartphone users with iOS 8 or previous and Android 2.3.7 or older operating systems can no longer create new accounts. They can neither reverify their existing account. The move is essential to ensure the security of its users says WhatsApp.
