AMC Theatres will Be Adding Shiba Inu (SHIB) as Payment Option, Says CEO

AMC Theatre

AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron has confirmed that the movie theatre giant will add Shiba Inu as a payment option during an earnings call on Monday.

The company is already  working on bringing the second-largest meme coin to its customer:

"We are now figuring out how to take Shiba Inu as a currency. That's the next one on our cryptocurrency hit parade.

Aron said that he had seen "a tidal wave" of messages about getting more active in the realm of cryptocurrencies.

CryptoPotato reported earlier this year when AMC began its cryptocurrency endeavour by allowing its customers to buy certain goods with BTC, ETH, LTC, and BCH.

Shortly after, the firm took advantage of the ongoing meme coin rally and added Dogecoin as well. In late October, Aaron took it to Twitter to ask whether AMC should do the same with the self-proclaimed Doge killer Shiba Inu.

It shows that the overwhelming dominance of those who believe that the addition should happen "for sure" has pushed the CEO into exploring how to do it.

The verge cited a recent earnings call in which Aron promised that once the company fully adopts the aforementioned digital assets, Shiba Inu will be "the next on our cryptocurrency hit parade."

"I can confirm today that we have been exploring with third parties over the past few months both how we can accept cryptocurrency and if it is feasible for AMC to consider even launching our own cryptocurrency," Aron added.

He further explained that the firm is "now in conversation" with numerous Hollywood studios "about the concept of joint venturing commemorative NFTs related to major film titles that show in our theatres."
