Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Plans To Curb Corruption With The Use Of Blockchain.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is planning to adopt the use of blockchain to eradicate corruption in its operations.

According to the Assistant Comptroller General (Modernisation), NCS is piloting an application called Oracle's Blockchain Cloud Service, which will help the agency manage its business processes and procedures in a bid to achieve a corruption-free environment.

While speaking to reporters Aber Benjamin said the agency expects to increase its revenue by 50% with the use of blockchain.
The target is realistic and the state organisation is busy with a pilot of Oracle's Blockchain Cloud Service to manage business processes and procedures to improve transparency, toot out corruption and increase revenue. said Benjamin
With the high level of corruption in Nigeria, it is necessary to take rightful measures to curb the activity. with the help of Blockchain transparency, it will help NCS have clear records of all transactions undertaken. By rooting out corruption, NCS will be able to attain a significant increment to its current $260 million monthly revenue.

The report also clears that it will also drive investment in goods manufactured in Nigeria because trusted information on all products will be available on the platform.

"I see fast adoption of blockchain in Nigeria as this will drastically promote Nigeria's ease of doing business and bring about trust in the different systems such as trade, finance, oil supply, etc," said Benjamin
