Google set to reverse ban on cryptocurrency-related advertising in U.S, Japan

The Tech giant Google is set to reverse its ban on cryptocurrency-related advertising and plans to allow some crypto exchanges to run an advert on its platform only from the United States and Japan. The update to ad policy starts in October.

According to the report, advertisers will need to be certified with Google for the specific country in which their ads will serve. Advertisers will be able to apply for certification once the policy launches in October.

This announcement came up after Google announced the ban on cryptocurrency-related ads in June, this action was intended to protect consumers and included initial coin offerings (ICOs), wallets and trading advice, which are still not allowed said the company.

A similar thing happens when some other tech giants, such as Facebook and Twitter ban crypto advertisements on their platform earlier this year.

Facebook also reversed its ad ban for pre-approved cryptocurrency firms, while still maintaining a ban on Initial Coin Offering (ICO) advertisement, similar to Google's update on cryptocurrency now.

Google's updated policy applies to advertisers all over the world, though the ads can only run in the U.D. and Japan, and interested parties will need to apply for certification to serve ads in each country individually. Google's
