Binance Launches Zero-Fee Trading on ETH/BUSD in support of Ethereum merge

The leading cryptocurrency exchange platform Binance introduced Zero-Fee Trading for the ETH/BUSD spot trading pair starting from 26 August 2022 00.00 (UTC) until 26 September 2022 00.00 (UTC).

Binance is coming up with this promotion campaign for the support of the Ethereum merge from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of Stake (PoW) consensus mechanism which has raised some concerns from the Ethereum community making traders cautious.

Ethereum is the second-biggest cryptocurrency by market cap after Bitcoin. It is also a Decentralized computing platform that can run a wide variety of applications, including the entire universe of DeFi. Unlike Bitcoin, Ethereum wasn't created to be digital money, instead, its founders set out to build a new kind of global, decentralized computing platform that takes the security and openness of blockchains and extends those attributes to a vast range of applications.

In the Binance ETH/BUSD Zero-Fee trading announcement, the exchange stated:
All users will enjoy zero maker and taker fees for the ETH/BUSD spot trading pair.

The ETH/BUSD spot trading pair will be excluded from BNB fee discounts, fee rebates or any other form of fee adjustments or fee promotions.

VIP users: Trading volume on the ETH/BUSD spot trading pair will be excluded from the 30-day volume calculation toward the trading fee level.

Spot Liquidity Providers: Maker volume on the ETH/BUSD spot trading pair will be excluded from the maker volume calculation toward the Spot Liquidity Provider Program.

The anticipated Ethereum merge is slated to be released on September 15 2022 after two years of upgrading since December 2020.
